Twiggs are delighted to have been able to help budding engineers at Derby Grammar School by supplying free steel for their latest engineering project. Students are working hard preparing for this years’ Greenpower Formula 24 and 24+ competitions.
A spokesman for the school said, "Special thanks must go to our 2017 season supporters - William Twigg (Matlock) Ltd, steel stockholder and engineers' merchants, and the Morris family for their generous support for the team.
Inspiring engineers and racing drivers of the future, our Junior and Senior Greenpower teams give pupils from Year 7 upwards the opportunity to be engineers, mechanics, pit crew and drivers in their very own racing team.
The team take care of every aspect of maintenance and development of 'The Stag' electric car, racing it in regional and national events on race circuits across the country.
With the first race taking place on Wednesday 28 June it’s going to be a tense few weeks to get through building and testing to ensure we are race-ready!"
